Greetings National Alumni Association of Sabine High School (NAASHS) Members, Sabine High School Alumni, Family and Friends of the Sabine Parish community.
First of all, I would like to wish all of you a happy and prosperous 2026.
August 2026 will mark the 50th anniversary of the National Alumni Association of Sabine High School (NAASHS). The first convention was held in August 1976 in Many, La. The 2026 events will be held at Cypress Bend Resort August 14-16, 2026.

“5 For 50” Membership Campaign
NAASHS has started our “5 for 50” membership campaign. We are asking each alumni family member or friend to pay your dues in January and to recruit 5 new or renewing members to join our organization. We need our community to support NAASHS. Our community members include:
• Family members.
• Church members.
• Classmates.
• Co-Workers.
• Local businesses. We support them with our dollars.
Let’s ask for reciprocity.
• Sorority sisters and fraternity brothers.
• Social organizations
We need membership dues and donations to fund scholarships for the children of Sabine Parish. The member dues are a major source of funding for our scholarship initiatives.
In 2025, NAASHS awarded $4,000 in scholarships to Sabine Parish high school graduates.
Sabine High School (SHS) was our shining light upon the hill. The lessons learned at SHS provided the solid foundation that led to the success of numerous students and graduates. That solid foundation enabled us to become college graduates, successful entrepreneurs, educators, doctors, engineers, corporate executives and local leaders in our communities. This same solid foundation was the basis for us to create generational educational opportunities and in some instances, generational wealth. The lessons learned at SHS continue to impact on our families and community today and will impact families for generations.
So, we are asking you to support this “5 for 50” initiative.
1. Increased Membership: Annual dues are only $50 per year calendar year. If you are not a member of NAASHS, please consider joining our organization. Annual dues help to cover our operating expenses, but more importantly, dues help to fund scholarships for the graduates of Sabine Parish high schools. Annual dues are due in January of each year, but we accept payments and donations throughout the year.
2. Increase Funding for Scholarships: Funding scholarships are the “life blood” of our main strategy of becoming more scholarship focused. Simply, we cannot issue scholarships without funding from our members, friends and alumni family
3. Increase the Number and Amounts of Scholarships Awarded: Please donate to our General Scholarship fund or establish a scholarship in the name of someone you would like to honor.
